Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Field Marks Challenge.
Do I have to complete the challenge before receiving my coin?
No. Field Marks Challenge operates on an honor system.
When you purchase a challenge, your challenge coin is reserved for you. Once you complete your checklist and submit it according to challenge requirements, you may redeem your coin and certificate.
Whether challenge requirements were honestly completed is ultimately up to each participant.
However, we strongly encourage participants to complete challenges before requesting redemption. The goal of Field Marks Challenge is to inspire people to spend time outdoors, build bird identification skills, and celebrate real accomplishments.
Many participants find that earning the reward after completion makes the experience more meaningful.
What is your Refund Policy?
Orders may be cancelled for a full refund prior to shipment. Unused, undamaged challenge coins may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, and a $5 restocking fee will be deducted from the refund. Coins must be returned in original condition and packaging. If your coin arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact support@fieldmarkschallenge.com and we will make it right.
How do I redeem my challenge reward?
Complete your checklist requirement (10, 20, or 40 eligible species, depending on challenge level).
Take a clear photo or screenshot of your completed checklist and email it to our redemption address with your order information.
Can I work on challenges over multiple seasons?
Yes. Challenges are designed to encourage long-term birding enjoyment. Take your time and enjoy the experience.
Do I need professional birding equipment?
No. Binoculars help, but many participants begin with just their eyes, ears, curiosity, and a field guide or bird identification app.
Can children participate?
Absolutely. Field Marks Challenge is intended to encourage bird appreciation for birders of all ages.
What if I misidentify a bird?
Learning bird identification is part of the journey. Do your best, use available resources, and enjoy improving over time.
